
The founder of the Tip Top Gallery , Jason Van Hoose graduated from Youngstown State University with honors (Cum Laude) and received a BFA in painting. His instructors include the illustrious artists James Lepore, James Lucas, James Pernotto, Russel Maddick, Margot Miller, Edward Hallahan, Alfred Bright, John Naberezny, Anthony Armeni, Michael T. Moseley and Dr. Louis Zona, Director of the Butler Institute of American Art.
Jason grew up in small towns and rural areas of Western Pennsylvania and Ohio where he spent his time hunting, fishing, trapping and working on farms. He comes from a family of coal miners, farmers, steel workers, and soldiers who helped to instill in him a deep love and respect for the American landscape. Currently, Jason is painting the landscapes of Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, as well as socio-political commentary of the region.
Oil on canvas and acrylic on panel are his preferred mediums.
